Statistics Course on ‘Statistical Records of Economic Establishments’ in Iraq

In accordance with its 2018 Annual Work Plan and within the framework of Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised the Statistics Course on ‘Statistical Records of Economic Establishments’ at the Central Statistical Organization (CSO) of Republic of Iraq on 12-14 November 2018.

The Statistics Course was conducted by Dr. Saleh Alkafri, Director General of Economic Statistics at the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), with the participation of relevant officials of the CSO of Republic of Iraq.

The Statistics Course on ‘Statistical Records of Economic Establishments’ included discussion activities with a focus on the following topics:

  • Main concepts of Statistical Business Register (SBR)
  • Review the available establishments registers in Iraq
  • Review the available laws that ask the establishments to registers
  • How to describe the registration files
  • How to collect the data
  • How to develop the files for matching and developing the SBR
