SESRIC and the National Institute of Statistics (INSTAD) of Djibouti formalised their collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) as part of the project titled “Integration of Tobacco Questions for Surveys (TQS) into the National Surveys in Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member Countries.” The MoA was signed by H.E. Mrs. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK and H.E. Dr. Ibrahim Abdi HADI, Director General of INSTAD of Djibouti.

Through this partnership, INSTAD of Djibouti integrated the TQS into its appropriate national survey, the Fifth Djiboutian Household Survey for Social Indicators (EDAM5-IS). This initiative aimed to harmonise and standardise the monitoring of key tobacco control indicators, support evidence-based policymaking, and ensure the sustainability of data collection on tobacco use.
