H.E. Moustapha Sokhna DIOP, Ambassador of the Republic of Senegal to the Republic of Türkiye, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK at the Centre’s Headquarters in Ankara.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review the longstanding cooperation between SESRIC and the Republic of Senegal, particularly in the areas of capacity building, statistical development, and technical cooperation. Both sides underlined their shared commitment to further strengthening institutional collaboration in line with Senegal’s national development priorities and the broader objectives of the OIC.

During the meeting, H.E. SELÇUK highlighted SESRIC’s readiness to continue providing Senegal with tailored training programmes, technical assistance, and knowledge-sharing initiatives across various socio-economic sectors. She emphasised that Senegal remains one of SESRIC’s active beneficiary countries, noting that the Centre has implemented hundreds of activities for the benefit of Senegalese institutions over the years. In this context, she also referred to SESRIC’s contributions to activities organised in commemoration of Dakar as the OIC City of Tourism 2025, underscoring the importance of culture- and tourism-driven development.

H.E. Amb. DIOP, for his part, expressed his appreciation for SESRIC’s sustained support and its tangible impact on enhancing institutional capacities in Senegal. He reaffirmed Senegal’s strong interest in deepening cooperation with SESRIC, particularly in areas related to human capital development, data-driven policymaking, and institutional strengthening which would further align SESRIC’s expertise with national and regional development goals.

The meeting concluded with both parties reiterating their mutual commitment to maintaining close coordination and exploring concrete opportunities to expand cooperation, contributing to sustainable development and enhanced solidarity among OIC countries.
