SESRIC Participated in the 2nd OIC Conference of Transport Ministers

A SESRIC delegation, led by H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, participated in the 2nd OIC Conference of Transport Ministers, held on 11–12 February 2026 in İstanbul under the theme “Strengthening Transport Connectivity to Deepen Fraternity among OIC Member States.”

The Conference brought together Ministers of Transport and other high-level representatives from OIC countries, relevant OIC institutions, and international partners. It provided a key platform to review recent developments in transport and connectivity across the OIC region, exchange best practices, and explore avenues for strengthening collective action to address shared transport challenges. The Conference marked an important milestone in advancing transport cooperation among OIC countries.

On the second day, the Ministerial Session commenced with a welcome address by H.E. Mr. Abdulkadir URALOĞLU, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye. This was followed by a speech by H.E. Mr. Hissein Brahim TAHA, Secretary General of the OIC, delivered on his behalf by H.E. Dr. Ahmad Kawesa SENGENDO, Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Affairs, of the OIC. Following the presentation of the Report of the Senior Officials Meeting and statements by Ministers and Heads of Delegation, the Conference concluded with the adoption of its resolutions. Building on these outcomes, SESRIC remains committed to supporting Member Countries through data-driven research, transport statistics, and capacity-building initiatives, and will continue working closely with OIC institutions and international partners to implement the Conference’s decisions and strengthen collective efforts towards sustainable and integrated transport development across the OIC region.
