H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Yusuf TEKIN, Minister of National Education of the Republic of Türkiye, in Ankara on 25 February 2026.

During the meeting, the two sides held constructive discussions on advancing cooperation in the field of education, with a particular focus on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and skills development. They underlined the pivotal role of these areas in fostering inclusive economic growth, enhancing employability, and supporting sustainable development across OIC countries.

H.E. SELÇUK highlighted SESRIC’s ongoing efforts and capacity-building initiatives aimed at strengthening national education systems and promoting knowledge exchange among OIC countries. She also emphasised the importance of enhancing institutional partnerships and sharing best practices to address emerging challenges in the education sector, especially in light of rapid technological transformation and evolving labour market demands.

H.E. TEKİN welcomed the visit and expressed his appreciation for SESRIC’s contributions to education and human capital development in the OIC region. He reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to deepening cooperation with SESRIC, particularly in the areas of TVET, lifelong learning, and skills enhancement, with a view to supporting youth empowerment and sustainable socio-economic development.

The meeting concluded with both sides expressing their readiness to further strengthen collaboration and explore new avenues for joint initiatives that would contribute to improving education outcomes and building resilient and future-ready societies across the OIC.
