A SESRIC delegation led by H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK met with H.E. Amb. Hameed Ajibaiye OPELOYERU, Permanent Observer of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation to the United Nations, on the margins of the 57th Session of the United Nations Statistical Commission held in New York City.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed ongoing cooperation between SESRIC and the OIC’s Permanent Observer Mission to the United Nations and explored avenues to further advance socio-economic development across OIC countries through evidence-based policymaking.

The discussions also highlighted the importance of strengthening intra-OIC collaboration by leveraging SESRIC’s work in the areas of statistics, research, and capacity-building. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing coordination and cooperation to support sustainable development efforts across the OIC region.
