SESRIC Participated in the 48th Meeting of the Sessional Committee of the COMCEC

SESRIC participated in the 48th Meeting of the Sessional Committee of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC). Held virtually on 5 May 2026, the meeting aimed to review and coordinate the contributions of OIC institutions to the implementation of the COMCEC Strategy and its Ministerial Policy Recommendations.

During the meeting, participating OIC institutions, including SESRIC, provided updates on their implemented activities under two main groups: those directly supporting COMCEC Ministerial Policy Recommendations, and those aligned with broader COMCEC strategic objectives.

A dedicated segment of the meeting focused on the role of OIC institutions in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across OIC countries. SESRIC presented its preparations for the 2026 Annual Report on the progress made towards the prioritized SDGs at the OIC level, which will cover all 17 SDGs in alignment with member countries’ development priorities for submission to the 42nd Ministerial Session of COMCEC.

Furthermore, SESRIC briefed the Committee on its involvement in the 13th Call of COMCEC Project Funding, with three projects selected for the 2026 implementation period under the cooperation areas of SMEs, Poverty Alleviation, and Tourism.

Representatives from other OIC institutions also shared pertinent information about their activities and efforts with the Committee in preparation for the upcoming 42nd Meeting of the Follow-Up Committee of the COMCEC, to be held in Ankara, Türkiye.
