Within the framework of SESRIC Social Development Capacity Building Programme (SD-CaB) and in collaboration with the OIC General Secretariat, SESRIC organised a Webinar on “From Family Planning to Family Promotion: How to Achieve Pro-Natal Policies in the OIC Member Countries” on 28 July.

The webinar included expert-led sessions benefiting 87 professionals from relevant ministries and institutions across 24 OIC Member Countries.

The aim of the webinar was to provide policymakers, practitioners, and relevant stakeholders with insights into designing, implementing, and evaluating pro-natal policies in OIC Member Countries. It focused on strategies that combine social, economic, and institutional approaches to encourage family formation, support parents, and enhance the overall well-being of families. The webinar covered the following key topics and country experiences:

• Pro-family Policies in the OIC
• The Evolution of Population Policies and Shaping Demographic Transformation in the World
• How Prayer Impacts Fertility Across Europe
• Strengthening the Legal and Social Foundations of the Family: Azerbaijan’s Strategy for Demographic Sustainability
• Social Determinants of Fertility in Qatar
• Strengthening the Family as a National Priority: Türkiye’s Pro-Natalist Policies and Social Support Mechanisms
