Within the framework of SESRIC’s Poverty Alleviation Capacity Building Programme (PA-CaB), the Centre organized a training course on “Monitoring and Evaluation of the National Development Plans and Projects” on 7-10 December 2020 for the benefit of the staff of the Ministry of Planning, Investment and Economic Development (MoPIED) of the Federal Republic of Somalia. The course was conducted through a video conferencing platform by following synchronous learning and instruction approaches.
The training course was provided by competent experts from the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey, Strategy and Budget Presidency of Turkey, Ankara Development Agency, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).
The training course aimed at strengthening technical capacities of the MoPIED on monitoring and evaluation of the national development plans and projects in order to deliver its mandate and functional responsibilities more effectively.

This training course was designed in line with the virtual training solutions undertaken by SESRIC in order to better serve the Centre’s training activities and keep participants motivated and engaged during this difficult time of the global crisis due to COVID-19 pandemic.
